What Is This?

Lambeth Redress scheme

Lambeth Council set up the scheme because they wanted to take responsibility for the failure to adequately protect children in their care from the 1930s until the 1990s. The scheme is the first of its kind in the country and was set up after talking to abuse survivors and their legal advisors.

Lambeth Council are aware that some people from Black African and Caribbean backgrounds who are eligible have not yet come forward to claim compensation. Voice4Change England and Black Thrive have joined forces to raise awareness so everyone receives what they are entitled to.
