What Happens To Your Personal Data

We treat all the information and personal data you give us as confidential. We only use your information to support you to complete the application process. We may use some of your anonymised data to produce reports (e.g. the number of applications processed), to help us to improve our service, and to provide feedback to organisations who we work with to help them to improve Redress Scheme applicants experience of their services.

We will not pass on any information to any organisation except for the reasons above or if:

• we’re required to by law

• someone may be at risk

When your information is passed to the Redress Scheme to be processed. They will use your information to:

• to make redress application decisions

• to prevent fraud related to the Redress Scheme

• to tell the Department of Work and Pensions that we have made a payment to you.

To produce statistics and reports, for example, about the numbers of applicants or where they live – data is anonymised where possible Lambeth’s Redress team will not  pass on any information that you give them  to any organisation except for the reasons above or if:

• they are required to by law

• someone may be at risk

 

What happens to your application?

The Redress Scheme will contact you within 10 working days to let you know they have received your application. They will then try to confirm when you lived in or visited a Lambeth children’s home or Shirley Oaks Children’s Home by checking against the records and data that they have. If they cannot do this, they may need to contact you for more information. If they get in contact you our Navigation Team will be here to help you with the queries you receive. If you’re applying for an Individual Redress Payment, they may also need to review your care records. However, you do not need to apply for your care records before submitting your application and we can assist you to get access to your records.
