Voice4Change England is a BAME led high profile national advocate for the Black and ethnic minority voluntary sector. We create links between funders, local and central government to raise the profile of the voluntary sector to ensure that policies and decision making enables BAME led organisations to support their communities.
Lambeth Council set up the scheme because they wanted to take responsibility for the failure to adequately protect children in their care from the 1930s until the 1990s. The scheme is the first of its kind in the country and was set up after talking to abuse survivors and their legal advisors.
Black Thrive is a Lambeth based partnership between statutory organisations, the voluntary sector and local communities who work collaboratively to reduce mental health inequality experienced by African and African-Caribbean communities. They work to influence policy and practice to improve the mental, social and economic outcomes of Black people living in the London Borough of Lambeth.
